Yes – support for people and communities does not have to depend on arbitrary designations. Government investment should be on need and
assessed on merit, not simply announcements made in election campaigns in an attempt to persuade people to vote for them. For example, I
have been working with the local Mount Eliza community and the Shire for years, asking for federal funding for important upgrades to Email
Madsen Reserve – I have written letters to Ministers, met with the Deputy Prime Minister, raised the issue multiple times in parliament.
Yet, the Morrison Liberals refused to fund this important community precinct while they were in government. It’s not good enough.
Our community deserves a government with ambition, vision, and a plan for economic recovery. A government which creates opportunity and
rewards hard work.
Labor has a plan for a better future. A plan that will deliver a better life for you and your family; secure, well-paid jobs so you can plan
for the future; a future made in Australia; and meaningful action on climate change.
