Peninsula 'Think Tank' Bolstered

The leadership of the regional group committed to lifting economic and social prosperity as a priority for the Mornington Peninsula has recently made key appointments.

Local resident and experienced public policy expert Alina Hinton-Tooley has been appointed as the part-time Executive Officer for the Committee for Mornington Peninsula (CfMP).

Respected business owner and town planning consultant, Jackie Prossor and graduate accountant Brandon Tilley have joined the CfMP have joined the Committee of Management following the departure of foundation director, Mal Hart due to the demands of his international business.

Committee President, Bruce Billson, was delighted to announce the appointment, emphasising the important and valued skills each bring to the Committee for Mornington Peninusla.

"The Committee has been very fortunate to benefit from Mal Hart's drive and clear sense of the need for the organisation during its formation, and thank Mal for his inspiration, time and energy", Mr Billson said.  

"Jackie Prossor is a highly regard planning expert who loves this region and the Peninsula's landscapes, and also understands the intricacies of local land-use requirements at a time when so many of the challenges local businesses face in providing livelihoods for local people are related to town planning policies, controls and enforcement.         

"While Brandon Tilley is a talented young accountant and supports the financial management and operations of the Committee, he also epitomizes why the Committee was created.  A young person, with a bright future, who grew up on the Peninsula, has invested in his studies to join a worthwhile profession and wants to pursue a satisfying career in his 'home' community. 

"With Alina's public policy & project management skills, experience with member organisations including the Victorian Farmers Federation, first hand knowledge about the challenges of running your own local business and previous work with all levels of government, including with the Mornington Peninsula Shire, we are lucky to have been able to recruit the complete package in Alina as the Committee's inaugural executive officer", Mr Billson said.

Mr Billson added that the recent additions to the Committee for Mornington Peninsula team, the Committee is better able to meet the needs of its members and in pursuing it goal of supporting improved sustainable economic and employment opportunities in the region.
